Bouldering information

  • What equipment do I need? Please don’t worry; you won’t need to buy anything particular in advance. Wear comfy clothing with some stretch and modesty, and we can sort the rest for you. Hiring a pair of climbing shoes is included. Chalk is available, or you can buy your own to stop your hands from slipping.
  • Do my parents have to stay? Yes!  Parents or guardians must take full responsibility, and you must stay with your child.* This is not a drop-in session. Only suspected or diagnosed SEND children or young people are funded to climb with STRM and are registered with the charity.
  • It is a public area, and we do not have exclusive use, but if you want to bring other children and pay, you may, but you have to have a 2-1 child to adult ratio for our sessions or public sessions, and other children will not be part of our group. This is due to Indirock allocating an instructor solely for our group cohort. *Excludes over 18

    Your to-do list!

    1. Please also complete the registration form for your parent and child.

    2. You and your child must watch the safety video with your child/ren before the session.

    3. At STRM, we take safeguarding very seriously. As part of our policy, we do not allow photographs, videos or other images of children, young people or adults to be taken without consent. If the child is under 16, we require consent from a parent/carer. For those over 16, we believe it’s good practice to inform parents/carers that photographs and videos of their child or young people may be used if the child has given consent, along with adults.

We take all necessary measures to ensure that these images are only used for their intended purposes. However, if you become aware of any inappropriate use of these images, we kindly ask that you inform us immediately. Together, we can ensure a safe and secure environment for all. SEND the Right Message Visuals

Change can be especially challenging for neurodivergent children and young people. Transitions, or changes, can be difficult for many neurodivergent individuals who often prefer predictability and routine. Preparing for transitions, such as attending a new club, can be difficult.

At STRM, we have created visuals to help minimise their anxiety and stress when trying a new club or activity.
