🧡 Sometimes, simply reaching out and finding your community can help everything make a little more sense. 🧡
🚿🧼 Today at Warm Wednesday, we explored Teen Hygiene & Independence at STRM HQ, Benfleet.
We talked about some of the challenges that can make personal care difficult for neurodivergent young people, including executive functioning, sensory differences, interoception, puberty, and building everyday routines.
A huge thank you to Jenny from USP College for joining us to talk about supported internships and the opportunities available for neurodivergent young people after school.
🧴🪥 To help families put ideas into practice, everyone received a free wash bag plus goodies and a visual timetable wipe board to support daily routines at home. We also had time to discuss individual questions, including Right to Choose and school attendance.
👏 Thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a friendly and supportive morning. 🧡

We build support based on what families tell us they need.
Recent launches include:
Drop-ins. Workshops. 1:1 guidance. Whole-family support — not just a chat.
As new programmes open, this is where you’ll see them first.
We are proud that STRM’s lived-experience approach is being recognised locally and nationally.
Recent milestones include:
• Shortlisted for a national SEND award for partnership working
• Supporting Your Neurodivergent Child resource distributed to over 18,000 families
• Growing team of trustees, staff and volunteers with lived experience
• Cross-sector partnerships with local authorities and health partners
Every award and milestone reflects the families who trust us and the community that continues to grow around them.
