Behind the scenes, we’re working tirelessly on various initiatives to support our community, and we want YOU to be part of the change!
Providing support services for families with specific educational needs and/or disabilities.
Supported area: Castle Point Rochford Districts and Southend.
🧡🧗♀️Bouldering was packed tonight!🧡🧗
Even though the few photos we managed to take make it look quiet. We really didn’t have much time for pictures because we were too busy connecting, catching up, and of course, climbing!
We squeezed in some Traitors talk, ADHD meds updates and experiences, NHS England discussions, and even a mini lesson on the word - quangos!
Our sixth form volunteer was brilliant 👏 learning about the power of community 🧡 Plus updates on our Supporting Your Neurodivergent Child book 📘, Priority Services Register support 😁 and yes, Maggie’s “I ❤️ Alan” T-shirt made an appearance! 😂

The kids had a very lovely time thank you 🫶🙌. 😂Alan ! Who the …. is Alan ? Remember that song ? Ooops, my husband just reminded me the song was about Alice not Alan 🤣. Blame Fybro Fog 😜.

✨ Wellbeing Wednesday ✨
Being a carer often means rushing — but your body and mind deserve rest, too 🧡.
👉 What will you choose?
📚 Create a cosy reading nook or 😴 Go to bed 30 minutes early
🔖 Self-care is not a luxury, it’s a necessity.

I do believe self care is important but also often unachievable. There's such emphasis on achieving self care that when unable to do it, it feels just like another thing unaccomplished, failed. The pressure to achieve self care can become another task. I'm not knocking self care just explaining it can feel just too much to achieve. I've been using some calming techniques but they're more like rescue kit techniques in times of pure overwhelm and chaos, rather than general maintenance.
I read in bed... inevitably falling asleep with a book on my head 😂
Reading 📚 for sure x
Maggie was pleased to represent STRM - SEND the Right Message Registered Charity at today’s Remembrance ceremony and at the Civic centre in Southend.
It was a well-organised event that brought together leaders from the council, community organisations, the Salvation Army, and armed forces representatives to reflect on service, sacrifice, and community.
It was also lovely to see Rachel from Raw Learning, Jo from Cake Club - Parenting Support & Solidarity, and Tom from South Essex Community Hub - SECH always good to connect with others supporting families across Southend.
A heartfelt thank you to all involved for organising such a thoughtful event.
