We are devoted to supporting SEND families to maintain our support services, and you can help us raise money to support our work.
The money you raise goes straight back into the charity’s work in supporting some of the most disadvantaged people in society.
STRM depends on donations and the assistance of people like you to continue providing support services and training for families living in Southend, Castle Point, and Rochford districts where a child has been identified as having specific educational needs and/or disabilities.
Before raising funds for STRM, you must read this information, as charity fundraising is regulated by law. Please also refer to www.institute-of-fundraising.org.uk and www.fundraisingregulator.org.uk to ensure you comply with any fundraising codes of practice relevant to your event.
STRM – SEND the Right Message Charity is a ‘by parents and for parents’ charity whose aim is to support families with children and young people (0-25) who have Specific Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND)* in Southend, Castle Point & Rochford Districts.

£5 donation provides the membership fee for one family for a year.
The £10 donation provides the membership fee for two families experiencing financial difficulty for a year.
£15 provides a parent carer with an online or in-person support session
£30 provides a parent carer with specialist talk or training session
£60 enables us to provide one-off support sessions like the Cost-of-living Crisis Sessions
£75 provides a parent carer with a Disability Benefit appointment or Family Remedy appointment
£156 provides a child or young person with a place at our Bouldering Club for eight weeks.

Here are some fundraising ideas.
Organise a pub quiz down your local – you could even approach local businesses to donate a prize.
• Ask family and friends to donate money instead of gifts for a special occasion.

For more than 30 years, British Airways has supported community initiatives across the UK and worldwide. Now, with BA Better World Community Fund, they are creating more life-changing opportunities and generating more positive impact in the communities we serve by offering up to £15,000 in extra funding to eligible projects that crowdfund.
STRM were lucky enough to have their application accepted and continue to raise funding for our Bouldering Club.

Facebook covers all donation processing fees when you start a non-profit fundraiser on Facebook.
Note: If you have blocked the Meta page, you won’t see the Meta donation on your fundraiser. The donation will still be made.
A message will pop up that congratulates you on creating your fundraiser. From there, you can invite your friends to donate, share your fundraiser in your Feed, or donate to the fundraiser yourself.
Donating foreign coins to our charity is a great way to make a little extra money to support us. Please bring it along to one of our support sessions or our office at Labyrinth House, or if you have a large amount, we can arrange a collection for you.
